Into the Stronghold

Historic 1870's Apache taking horses into 'Cochise's Stronghold', located in the Dragoon Mountains, Sulphur Springs Valley, Cochise County, Arizona.
This was an impenetrable mountain area where the Chiricahua Apaches were safe from outsiders, and that they frequented. An excellent refuge, they remained here for some 15 years protected from the U.S. Army and homesteader's to the area.
